Since I launched this site a few years ago I’ve sold online through the site and my Etsy store, Alexandra Zvi. My label is now about to be sold in the centre of Melbourne, at Design a Space, 20 Manchester Lane.
Established in 2006 and a first of its kind, Design A Space is a creative retail concept developed to promote and showcase the talents of independent Australian designers in an artistic shopping environment. With designers rotating monthly, Design A Space supports over 100 local independent designers, providing an exciting mix of men’s, women’s and children’s fashion and accessories.
Through renting a space, designers are given a retail platform to showcase their entire range. The collections offer customers the opportunity to find an original piece they may never see again and a guarantee that each visit into our stores will not be the same as their last.
The majority of our designers have been established for at least a few years over which time they have managed to perfect their creative techniques. Many of our designers choose to showcase limited edition pieces or small capsule ranges not available elsewhere. Whilst they may be stocked nationally and overseas they still choose to come on board with us as they benefit from the retail price.
So from April 18th, I will be one of these Designers. I’m excited about this opportunity; following the success if the Melbourne Alternative Designers Fashion showcase last month, I’m raring to see the smart chic women of Melbourne wear ‘Alexandra Zvi’. If a tourist or two find there way down Manchester Lane and love my style, maybe they too will make that entrance wearing a Graffiti Couture corset top or modelling one of the new blouses I’m developing.
It’s the blouse that often gets the comments from my customers. So by popular demand I am developing ‘Blouses by Zvi’, Elegant sharp and sexy, made from silk, cotton or viscose in a vibrant range of colours & prints, as well as black and white.
